confirmation class in February

Students should come to worship at 10:00 on Sunday, February 4 and participatie in communion. We will have a brief class afterwards and finish at 12:00.

Class will be held from 11:30 to 12:30 on February 11.

Field trips to other churches will begin on March 4.

SOUPER BOWL
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 4
It’s easy! Just bring $1 and come to your home church for morning worship.
You can help us collect for the Community Kitchen of Northeastern CT.
Last year we raised $563 for local hunger relief in just one hour.
Those who are helping with announcement should meet at 9:30 am to set up.

ITALIAN DINNER
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10
5:30 TO 7:00 PM at the Hill Church. Invite your family to a delicious meal. Sell your tickets to neighbors. We need everyone to help on Saturday to make this a success. You can set up tables, decorate, prep food, serve, or clean up.
[FYI—SYG workers get a free meal at 7:30 and Yes, you can ask a friend to work with you!]
Money raised will help cover the 2007 SYG Budget.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

WINTER HIKE
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 18
Dress warmly and come prepared for some outdoor fun!
It could be sledding or a winter hike, depending on conditions.
We’ll plan on building a bonfire and warming up with hot cocoa.
Bring a friend and meet at the Hill Church at 12 noon.

SYG SUNDAY NIGHT
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 25

7:00 to 8:30 PM at the Hill Church
Catch up together after winter vacation. We’ll gather in the kitchen and fix some snacks. Pass the word to your friends and offer a ride tonight.

7:30 TO 10:00 PM

Enjoy a casual evening of acoustic music featuring Bob Kirk, Don Spaeth, Mark Chuoke, Michael Geigert, Patrick Dempsey, Anthony Faranda, Mike Ingrahm, Kevin Collins and friends. Coffee, cider, and cocoa are free. Pizza and other snacks will be on sale.

This event is for all ages! Drop in for a song or stay for a set and visit with friends. We will have tables set for checkers, chess, and backgammon. Make a card for Scott Spalding at our "Sunshine Table."

Performers, take note: Youth Group will be sponsoring an OPEN MIC night on March 24, so get your act together!

ICE SKATING AT UCONN
Meet at the Hill Church at 2:00 PM.
Cost is $4 for admission and $3 for skate rental. This is a great time to bring a friend!!! We’ll return by 5:30 PM.

Its 24 hours in the city to serve the homeless. Sign up today! This experience will open your eyes to the needs of the poor. Check the back for registration details and more info. Can you help us collect clothing and toiletries to hand out?
